Gusty winds, high surf expected President's Day weekend

Strong and gusty winds are expected this President's Day weekend as the National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the main Hawaiian Islands until at least 6:00 a.m. Monday. That means winds are forecast at 25 to 35 mph with localized gusts over 50 mph. Motorists are advised to use caution on the roadways.?

A high surf advisory is also posted for east facing shores of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Maui, and the Big Island until at least 6:00 p.m. Wednesday. Waves are expected in the 8 to 10 foot face range. In addition, a high surf advisory is posted for north and west facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, and Molokai until at least 6:00 p.m. Monday. Waves are expected in the 18 to 24 foot face range.?
