Cameron on 2-day tour to meet Brazilian president

David Cameron is set to promote British business in Brazil on his 2-day tour to meet Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff.

On Thursday, the Prime Minister admitted Britain had been "under-performing" in Brazil, with just 1.5% of imports compared to Germany's 6.4%.

He has set himself the goal of driving up UK trade links with the emerging economic giant - now sixth in the world GDP table - as part of his export-led strategy for nursing the battered UK economy into recovery.

He was joined by a 58-strong business delegation in Brazil and welcomed the signing of deals worth upwards of ?100 million for the UK, which he said would safeguard or create 3,000 jobs in Britain.

Since coming to office in 2010, Mr Cameron has made boosting exports a key foreign policy priority. Brazil is the last of the four BRIC economies he has visited, after Russia, India and China, and he has now been to all of the G20 countries with the exception of Argentina.

With Rio de Janeiro inheriting the title of Olympic city from London, Mr Cameron is keen to ensure that the expertise gained in staging this summer's Games is put to good use in winning 2016 contracts for the UK.

On Thursday night he viewed plans for the proposed Olympic Park, which will be constructed to a masterplan drawn up by London-based Aecom, who performed a similar role for the 2012 Games.

British companies are also pursuing contracts to help stage the 2014 football World Cup in Brazil, with London's Bluecube announcing it will provide seating for the Castelao stadium in the city of Fortaleza.

Mr Cameron is fly to capital Brasilia to meet Ms Rousseff at the presidential Planalto Palace on the last leg of his trip - which also took in two days in New York to address the United Nations General Assembly and appear on the Late Show with David Letterman.

On the agenda for talks with Ms Rousseff will be Brazil's growing energy sector, which Mr Cameron believes provides an opportunity to export UK expertise and skills gained in 40 years of drilling in the North Sea.

:: Express Yourself :: ? Make Money Online Right Now-Navigating ...

So, I was posted at my pc one day, about 6 months or so into putting together my internet business. Like a good boy I was doing my backlinking, my SEO tasks, and posting another niche website. I believe it was my 17th or 18th website. I had it going on! I had websites on dog training, bed wetting, dieting, muscle building, ADHD, irritable bowel syndrome and on and on.

I was just getting to inserting my affiliate links in the Clickbank products and then it hit me ? what for? How did I reckon the new site would bring me money? In as much as, at that moment (I believe it might have been the initial time I literally stopped and thought for a second) I came to the conclusion that none of the other 17 had brought me any money! So why would I assume this one would? I also realized that I thought the same thing about #16, #15, #14, and so on.

As if that wasn?t upsetting enough, it also dawned on me that I hadn?t finished any of my SEO tasks on the first 10 websites in a month. They were presently languishing in as much as I was too hectic moving on to the next awesome thing.

Therefore, needless to say, I wasn?t enjoying a pleasant night!

As a rule, I?m a very motivated person and have been a businessperson for over 25 years and have repeatedly been, generally, successful at anything I put my mind to. So why is this not bringing in money?

When I stepped back and sincerely disected what I had been doing I quickly discovered that I was not directing all that business acumen to work! I was distressed from a common internet marketing ailment ? INFORMATION OVERLOAD! I confused activity for productivity! Just because you?re working on something doesn?t mean you?re doing the correct thing.

So I made the decision, in essence, to start from scratch. To sit down and sketch out a plan. I would draw up, dare I say it, a business plan!

I noticed that profitable Internet Marketer are very particular people with some definitive habits that help them thrive. Most internet marketers fail because they do not embrace these basic traits:

Determination- Be determined to succeed, with a fervent firmness to do what it takes. Don?t be easily dismayed.

Self-Motivation ? Be self-motivated. Get out of bed and get to work even when there is no manager waiting at ?the office? for you to clock in.

Focus ? Avoid the ?Shiny Object Syndrome?. Do not continue buying new products prior to putting the ones you formerly aquired into your mix.

Organization ? Get organized. Finalize one project before initiating another one. Set a list of tasks and motivate yourself to continue on that program as much as possible.

Do not assume you understand it all! ? This might be the most significant trait. Profitable Internet Marketers have an extraordinary willingness to constantly gather information and be trained so that they can prosper in their business.

I dropped almost all of my sites and started honing in on just a couple of things and now I?m generating my living online! It?s not as difficult as you assume. It just takes discipline. You as well can become a prosperous Internet Marketer by learning and utilizing these basic principles.

Apple's Cook sorry for Maps errors, suggests rivals

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Apple Inc Chief Executive Tim Cook apologized Friday to customers frustrated with glaring errors in its new Maps service, and, in an unusual move for the consumer giant, directed them to rival services instead, such as Google Inc's Maps.

The rare apology follows Apple's launch of its own mapping service earlier this month, when it began selling the iPhone 5 and rolled out iOS 6, the highly anticipated update to its mobile software platform.

Users complained that the new Maps service - based on Dutch navigation equipment and digital map maker TomTom NV's's data - contained geographical errors and gaps in information, and that it lacked features that made Google Maps so popular, including public transit directions, comprehensive traffic data or street view pictures.

"We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better," Cook said in a letter to customers released on its website, adding that the company "fell short" of its commitment to deliver "the best experience possible to our customers."

He then suggested that customers download rival mapping services available in Apple's App store, while the company improves the product.

"While we're improving Maps, you can try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest and Waze, or use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites and creating an icon on your home screen to their web app," he said in the letter.

Apple is typically loathe to tout rival services and the contrite apology by Cook is an indication of how Apple is changing under the chief executive who took over last year from co-founder Steve Jobs just before his death.

NEW APPLE

The last time Apple faced such widespread criticism was in 2010, when users complained of signal reception issues on the then-new iPhone 4 model.

A defiant Jobs at the time rejected any suggestion the iPhone 4's design was flawed but offered consumers free phone cases at a rare, 90-minute press conference called to address those complaints.

While Apple fixed the issue, Jobs had apologized to users only after he was specifically asked if he was sorry.

Cook's suggestion that Apple users download other map apps, particularly Google Maps, represents an about-turn for Apple, which had introduced its service as a direct challenge to the popular service offered by ally-turned-rival Google.

Apple Maps replaced the Google Maps app, which is no longer available on iOS 6. Users now have to access Google Maps through the browser.

Google and Apple were close partners with the original iPhone in 2007 and its inclusion of YouTube and Google Maps. But ties between the two companies have been strained by the rise of Google's Android mobile operating system, now the world's leading platform for smartphones.

Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt said earlier this week that it has not submitted a new Google Maps app to Apple, but added the search giant talks to the Cupertino-based company "every day."

Google obeys Brazilian order, blocks video

19 hrs.

RIO?DE JANEIRO???The Brazilian unit of Google, the world's No. 1 Internet search engine, said on Thursday it had obeyed a court order to remove a video attacking a candidate in Brazilian municipal elections from its YouTube service after legal appeals were exhausted.

"We are profoundly disappointed to not have the opportunity of openly debating our arguments in the electoral justice system that the videos were legitimate manifestations of the freedom of expression and should continue (to be) available in Brazil," said Fabio Coelho, director-general of Google in Brazil in an e-mailed statement.

The legal challenges underscore broader questions about Google's responsibility for content uploaded by third parties to its websites, including an anti-Islam video that sparked a wave of protests and violence in the Muslim world.

An arrest warrant was issued for Coelho earlier this week by a court in Brazil's Mato Grosso do Sul state after Google failed to obey an order demanding removal of the video attacking a mayoral candidate.

Judges in Brazil have held executives responsible for resisting the removal of online videos in violation of a stringent 1965 Electoral Code. The law bans campaign ads that "offend the dignity or decorum" of a candidate.

Google, which says it complies with local law but fights "diligently" to protect free speech, complied with the judge's order after it ran out of appeal chances, Coelho said.

On Wednesday, Coelho was questioned by Federal Police officers over the failure to remove the video and was later released.

"Despite this, we will continue with our global campaign for liberty of expression, not just because it is a prerequisite for a free society but also because more information generally means more schools, more power, more economic opportunities and more liberty for people," he said.

'Intimidation effect'

The person or persons who posted the offending videos "ironically" removed them on their own accord and closed their YouTube account, Coelho said.

"This is just one example of the intimidation effect of such an episode for freedom of speech," he added.

Earlier this month, an electoral court in Brazil's Paraiba ordered the arrest of another senior Google executive, Edmundo Luiz Pinto Balthazar, after the company refused to take down a YouTube video mocking a mayoral candidate there.

The video clip loaded by the user "Paraiba Humor" seized on a verbal slip by a candidate in a montage remarking, "What an idiot???give him an F!"

Within days, another judge overturned the order to arrest Balthazar, writing that "Google is not the intellectual author of the video, it did not post the file and for that reason it cannot be punished for its propagation."

Broader debate

Brazil also entered a broader international debate this week about an inflammatory YouTube video depicting the Prophet Mohammad as a womanizer, fool and child abuser, when a state court in Sao Paulo ordered Google to take down the video.

World leaders have decried the video, which set off a string of violent protests in the Muslim world, including attacks on U.S. embassies in Egypt, Libya and Yemen. Several Muslim leaders called for international action to outlaw acts of blasphemy.

When President Barack Obama addressed the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday, he repeated his condemnations of the video as "crude and disgusting" but defended the importance of free speech in the United States and throughout the world.

Ruling on a lawsuit by Brazil's National Islamic Union, Sao Paulo Judge Gilson Delgado Miranda gave Google 10 days to remove the video. In his decision, Miranda said he weighed freedom of expression against the need to protect against action that might incite religious discrimination.

NanoDays 2013 kit applications are now open
(Nanowerk News) NanoDays 2013 will be held on March 30 through April 7, 2013. NanoDays is a week of community-based educational outreach events to raise public awareness of nanoscale science, technology and engineering throughout the United States. NanoDays kits are currently in production and will be ready for distribution in January 2013. We invite you to fill out an online application for a physical kit containing all of the materials and resources you need to start planning your community events; applications are due December 1, 2012 (link to pdf is here).
Who can participate in NanoDays?
NanoDays kits are intended for use in public events; most host organizations are informal science education institutions and public outreach programs of nanoscience research centers. We invite you and your organization to participate in NanoDays 2013, whether or not you have previous experience with nano public outreach activities.
What kinds of kits are there and who is eligible to apply?
There are two forms of kits: physical and digital. They contain content and instructions on the same set of activities. You can apply online for a physical kit from now until December 1, 2012, or download a digital version of the kit after January 15, 2013. Two hundred and twenty-five (225) physical kits will be distributed for NanoDays 2013.
Physical kits are designed for informal science educational institutions (such as museums and research center outreach programs) within the United States. Eligibility guidelines are available here. To apply for a physical kit, go to http://www.nisenet.org/nanodays and follow the directions for the online application due by December 1, 2012. Applications will be reviewed and you will be notified of your kit status in late December 2012. Applications include a description of your planned events or activities during the NanoDays week; strong applications will include plans for using the NanoDays kit during the rest of the year. A PDF of the online application is attached for reference; however, applications should be submitted online using Survey Gizmo.
Digital kits are free, downloadable materials available to anyone who registers on nisenet.org. The digital version of the kit is designed particularly for international locations outside the United States, K-12 educators, libraries, and other educational organizations. Many of the activities use inexpensive, readily available supplies. Digital kits will be available for free download after January 15, 2013 at http://www.nisenet.org/nanodays. You do not need to fill out an application for a digital kit; however, you do need to have a profile on nisenet.org and log in to download these resources.
We did NanoDays last year ? do we need a new kit?
This year?s kits contain several new programs and activities and new training and promotional resources. We encourage you to apply for a new physical kit even though you may still have materials from last year.
I want to do activities in the summer, and can?t plan programs in March or April (the NanoDays period) ? can my institution still participate?
We strongly encourage you to target activities within the formal NanoDays period for two main reasons. First, holding numerous events within a limited timeframe is a great way to enhance the visibility of our collective efforts nationwide. Second, the NISE Network uses these events to collect data about the project to help inform future work and to report to the National Science Foundation. We realize that there may be scheduling conflicts that make it difficult for your organization to hold activities within the short NanoDays period. If this is the case, you may still apply, but you should clearly describe your plan for using the kit in your application. If you have any questions about using NanoDays material, feel free to contact your regional hub leader (contact information at www.nisenet.org/community)
I don?t work in a museum or nano research center ? how can I get involved?
Events are coordinated regionally and locally through museums, research centers, and other community partners. If you don?t already have contact with a museum or research partner that is hosting NanoDays, we can help you find them. Look for the geographic regional hub that corresponds to your location and contact your regional hub coordinator for how to get involved (www.nisenet.org/community).

China official says spat with Japan derails free trade talks

BEIJING (Reuters) - A festering territorial dispute between China and Japan has derailed talks for a free trade zone involving the two countries and South Korea, an adviser to China's central bank said on Thursday.

Sino-Japanese ties are at their lowest in decades amid a row over a series of islands in the East China Sea, waters believed to be rich in natural gas deposits, with neither side backing down on its claim of sovereignty.

Violent protests broke out across China last week after the Japanese government bought two of the islands, known as the Diaoyu in Chinese and the Senkaku in Japan. Tokyo also has a dispute over other islands with South Korea.

"We hope the suspension is temporary," Chen Yulu, a professor at China's Renmin University and an adviser to the monetary policy committee of the People's Bank of China, said of the free trade zone talks. "It will be a big loss for Asia if the process is terminated."

Chen was speaking on the sidelines of a central banking conference involving representatives of all three nations.

Despite the tension, Japanese and Chinese officials met on Thursday to mark 40 years of diplomatic relations, but the head of the Japanese side said he came "with a heavy heart".

What was meant to be a high-level celebration of normalized relations was instead a stiff acknowledgement that the world's second- and third-largest economies remain neighbors with a long history of cooperation.

"Today I have come to Beijing with a number of people who have worked hard over a long time on relations with China," former Japanese Foreign Minister Yohei Kono told Jia Qinglin, a senior Chinese leader, in Beijing's Great Hall of the People.

"The conditions are rather different from when I met Your Excellency in the spring, and I come this time with a heavy heart."

Jia, the Communist Party's fourth-ranked official, called the Japanese visitors "old friends of the Chinese people".

Chart shows households with student loans

(AP) ? With college enrollment growing, student debt has stretched to a record number of U.S. households ? nearly 1 in 5 ? with the biggest burdens falling on the young and poor.

The analysis by the Pew Research Center found that 22.4 million households, or 19 percent, had college debt in 2010. That is double the share in 1989, and up from 15 percent in 2007, just prior to the recession ? representing the biggest three-year increase in student debt in more than two decades.

The increase was driven by higher tuition costs as well as rising college enrollment during the economic downturn. The biggest jumps occurred in households at the two extremes of the income distribution. More well-off families are digging deeper into their pockets to pay for costly private colleges, while lower-income people in search of higher-wage jobs are enrolling in community colleges, public universities and other schools as a way to boost their resumes.

Because of the sluggish economy, fewer college students than before are able to settle into full-time careers immediately upon graduation, contributing to a jump in debt among lower-income households as the young adults take on part-time jobs or attend graduate school, according to Pew.

As a share of household income, the debt burden was the greatest for the poorest 20 percent of households, or those making less than $21,044. In all, 40 percent of U.S. households headed by someone younger than age 35 owed college debt, the highest share of any age group.

"Comparing the debt to their economic resources, the lowest-income fifth of households are the ones experiencing the greatest stresses," said Richard Fry, a senior economist at Pew who analyzed the numbers.

Noting that college enrollment has continued to climb since 2010, Fry added: "Until college enrollment peaks, I would not expect the amount of outstanding student debt to level off."

The study released Wednesday is based on the Survey of Consumer Finances, conducted every three years and sponsored by the Federal Reserve. The numbers are as of 2010, the latest available for that survey. Separate Fed data have pointed to subsequent increases in student loans since 2010 that totaled $914 billion in the April-June quarter, but don't provide demographic breakdowns on who shoulders the biggest burdens.

Both President Barack Obama and his Republican challenger in this year's election, Mitt Romney, have been seeking to court young voters with differing visions on how to address rising tuition and growing college debt. Obama wants to make tax credits for college expenses permanent and expand Pell grants for lower-earning families. Romney says that making government the direct source of federal student loans has not worked and simply drives tuition higher. He stresses the need to curb college costs.

The Pew report found that the richest 20 percent of households, or those with annual income of $97,586 or higher, owed the biggest share of outstanding student debt ? 31 percent, up from 28 percent in 2007. The poorest 20 percent of households also saw their debt grow, to 13 percent from 11 percent.

The richest households saw significant increases in per-household debt. For those with annual income of $97,586 to $146,791, college debt rose from $25,921 in 2007 to $31,989. For the richest 10 percent, making at least $146,792, college debt increased from $36,033 to $44,810.

Across all households, the average outstanding college debt increased from $23,349 to $26,682. For the poorest 20 percent of households, the average debt rose from $19,018 to $20,640.

In recent years, Americans have cut back on several other types of borrowing such as credit card use, with average household indebtedness falling from $105,297 in 2007 to $100,720 in 2010. Broken down by income levels, however, average total indebtedness for the bottom 20 percent of households by income actually rose from $17,579 in 2007 to $26,779; for the higher income groups, average indebtedness either was unchanged or declined.

This Mr. Coffee K-Cup Maker Is Your Convenience-Is-King Deal of the Day [Dealzmodo]

Some people love to complain about K-Cups—y'know, the single serving pods that produce a cup of coffee in seconds. Sure, they may be envirommentally wasteful, they might not make the best tasting cup of coffee, and a K-Cup costs more than an equivalent amount of coffee beans. But for some people, coffee is just a way to deliver caffeine, and for that, the K-Cup is a perfect solution. Making a K-cup is simple: add water, add the coffee pod, and press a button. Cleanup's even easier. Often, this kind of convenience is reserved for offices and schools, where time and tidiness are at a premium. But today, the Mr. Coffee Single Cup Brewer—which uses K-Cups—is 39% off at Amazon, which means you can still pick up a reusable K-Cup and still save money. Never again will you clean a french press full of grinds and have to decide whether they go in the trash or the sink. [Amazon] More »

Wedge Buster Lands $2.2M From Drew Brees, Rob Dyrdek & Others To Build The ?Zynga For Sports?

WB_footballGameMobile and social gaming have exploded in popularity over the last few years and both are quickly becoming multi-billion dollar industries. With an estimated 35 million players in the U.S., fantasy sports has become a sizable market in its own right, with growth expected to continue as it reaches new players through increasingly mature mobile and social channels. It's no surprise, then, that Wedge Buster sees a big opportunity at the confluence of these three growing markets.

Video: Campaigns: Every hour counts

>>> good evening, if the race for president seems to have an urgency not fully supported by the calendar, then think of it this way. there are roughly a thousand hours to go before the election. every day and moment counts for the incumbent president and the man trying to unseat him. while both men have squared off in separate interviews over the last 24 hours , the first debate is still a week away. and coming off a bad week, the romney campaign is anxious for traction. we begin tonight with chuck todd , our white house political correspondent.

>> reporter: undeterred by a recent rocky stretch, mitt romney campaigned in colorado, insisting all is well with his campaign.

>> we'll win, polls go up, some down.

>> reporter: it is an aggressive attack, answering questions about whether or not the recent middle east uprising gave him any doubt about the arab spring.

>> it is the right thing to do to align ourselves with democracy. and i was certain and continue to be certain that there will be bumps in the road.

>> reporter: romney seized on the phrase "bumps in the road".

>> we just had an ambassador killed, egypt, and the race for the president, ran is on the edge of problems. pakistan, i don't consider these bumps in the road.

>> reporter: the white house dismissed the criticism.

>> there is a rather certain desperate attempt to grasp it, words and in that case that is profound.

>> reporter: the campaign unveiled a new attack, the tv ads, releasing mitt romney 's political tax returns with the remark that 47% of middle americans don't pay taxes.

>> he wouldn't release his taxes for 2010 , maybe instead of attacking others for taxes, romney should come clean on his.

>> reporter: the president traveled for meetings at the united nations . but the first effort, a meeting with the first lady. the appearance and the slimmed down schedule included no one-on-one meetings with other world leaders .

>> the fact of the matter is, the president does not wait for an annual meeting to have consultations with the foreign leaders, and it will continue.

>> reporter: you know, brian, by contrast with 2004 , the president had multiple meetings in india, iraq and afghanistan, that election was about national security .

>> seems they should take advantage of the city being shut down for a couple of days, chuck todd with us.

The Apple Maps furor is overblown

20 hrs.

Do not, I repeat, do not use Apple's new Maps app for iOS 6 ? if you live on the Falkland Islands, or plan on visiting in the near future. Seriously, you will be lost.

If you're in Seattle, or any other major U.S. city, you should be fine. In fact, if you upgrade from iOS 5 to iOS 6, you get passably good turn-by-turn navigation functionality ? something you would have had to pay for on the old iOS version ? for free.

That Maps thing that everyone and their mom seems to be yowling about? The criticism is out of proportion to the actual flaws.?

And as flawed as it may be (and we'll get to that), it makes sense for Apple do this.?The iPhone maker decided, sensibly, to push its chief competitor off of one of its main stages, after years of providing a pre-loaded revenue stream.

By swapping out a Google-powered Maps with a more?homegrown one, what does Apple bring??

The big boon for iOS users is?a?free turn-by-turn navigator, which can?get you from Point A to Point B with Siri's robotronically soothing voice and 3-D visuals that are at times so fun to look at, they could prove to be a distraction. (The renderings can be dazzling on highway on-ramps, for instance.)

There's also?Yelp integration: Pop-up star ratings appear on restaurants and landmarks that you search for, and when you click through, you immediately pull up the Yelp page. As someone who can't stand Yelp reviewers but nevertheless uses Yelp data religiously, I look forward to saving time and effort by using this.

Where the "fly-over" 3-D photo imagery?feature is enabled, it looks?great, and delivers higher-resolution satellite?imagery than you could get on the old Maps app.

As far as I can tell, those sponsored landmarks ??the ones?that netted Google some extra cash but never served you any purpose ? are gone. Yes, big?up to Apple for not shoving ads in your face when you're searching for a barber?shop. That was getting annoying in iOS 5, and I'm glad it's gone in iOS 6.

Apple's?traffic reporting is ...?different. Instead of the spaghetti of green, yellow and red that you'd see on a Google map, you see chokepoints highlighted in red lines, and some scary-looking alerts here and there.?I haven't decided yet if it's sensible minimalism or just missing information (and part of me misses seeing green and thinking "Go go go!"),?but you may actually prefer it.

The iOS 6 update brings all of that, for free, and if you don't like it, you can just keep on using ?Google Maps.?

"Wait, what??" you ask. "Didn't Apple kill off Google Maps?" No, and if you don't believe me, click here.?

If you visit Google Maps on an iPhone's Safari browser, you can even tap "Add to Home Screen" and voila, you have a Google Maps Web app that does most or all that the old native Maps app did.?

Google is sure to launch a?native Maps app for iOS shortly?(just like it did when Apple discontinued the pre-loaded YouTube player). When that happens, the map experience will only get better. Through competition. Apple vs. Google in a fight where no matter who loses, you win.

The ugly
But yes, there are flaws in Apple's Maps app.?

Bridges can?look crazy, rural roads can go missing ? more?egregiously, while one train station disappeared in London, an?airport suddenly?sprung up in Ireland.

Besides the bugs, a big Apple Maps issue is the lack of public transit information. Google's database can tell you when your bus is scheduled to arrive, while Apple's new service can't even tell you what bus to take. (There are, of course, many free iOS apps that can, along with the aforementioned?Google Web app.)

In a measured response to the outrage, Silicon Valley heavy (and Apple veteran) Jean-Louis Gass?e explained that, while the maps can be messy, the problem is not cartographical in nature. Apple simply didn't deliver the message correctly:

The demo was flawless ? but not a word from the stage about the app?s limitations, no self-deprecating wink, no admission that iOS Maps is an infant that needs to learn to crawl before walking, running, and ultimately lapping the frontrunner, Google Maps.

Map databases can be improved in realtime,?and?though?Apple and its partners are clearly?having growing pains?trying to merge map data, 3-D renders and aerial photography, that's bound to improve.?Consumer Reports echoes this in a press release, stressing the map database's ability to improve without requiring an?iOS update:

Maps feels like a new application rolled out in beta form.?Given the ease for pushing app updates to users and the server-side nature of Maps (meaning, the maps and other data are downloaded on the fly as needed), a rapid evolution is quite possible.

As a free application, Maps is definitely a welcomed addition to the iPhone universe, although at this moment, it does not compete well with established, third-party nav apps nor dedicated portable navigation devices.

So, let's review the facts:?

A) There are flaws in Apple's Maps database.

B) These flaws very likely do not affect you in any way.

C) These flaws will be fixed and served up without you updating any software.

D) There is a lack of public transit information, which may or may not affect you, but is partially remedied by apps.

E) You now get free turn-by-turn navigation and instant links to Yelp pages ? and no ads.

F) GPS-enabled Google Maps are still?available on iPhones and iPads?for free, through the Safari browser.

G) A Google Maps app for iOS will likely be here soon, too.

Now that you know all of that, are you still mad? Or are you asking yourself, why was I ever mad? Let me know. I don't want to apologize for Apple on this ? in fact I agree with Jean-Louis Gass?e and Consumer Reports, going so far as to say that?Apple should publicly brand Maps "beta" software, like Siri ? but let's all calm down.?

It's not the end of the world, it's just the beginning of one new way to look at it.

Used Hot Tubs MN ? HotSpring Spas of MN Selling New and Used ...

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) September 23, 2012

Womens Health & Fitness Day is the nations largest annual health promotion event for women of all ages. This years event is set for Wednesday, September 26, 2012, and in future years, is always be held on the last Wednesday in September.

For many women, taking time for health and fitness takes a second seat to work, family and other responsibilities. National Womens Health and Fitness Month highlights the importance of finding strategies for keeping healthy, said Dan Eppard the General Manager of Hot Spring Spas of Iowa and Minnesota.

Making small lifestyle changes to add physical activity into a daily routine, quitting smoking and using the hydrotherapeutic properties of a hot tub to recharge are three easy things women can do to improve their health, continued Eppard. To help women make the right choices, were providing three lifestyle suggestions.

Get Moving ? An obvious yet often neglected way to ensure good health is to exercise. Unfortunately, many women underestimate the health benefits of exercise, and if they cant do it, they give up. Exercise doesnt have to mean thirty minutes in the gym or an entire exercise tape in the VCR. In fact, even ten minutes walking after dinner or taking the stairs instead of the elevator can dramatically increase physical activity levels, leading to improved health. For women with little time in the day left for exercise, making small lifestyle changes can have a significant effect on health. Besides, a few minutes of walking here or a few extra stairs there may help shed those last five pounds.

Quit Smoking ? Women are well aware of the health risks associated with smoking cigarettes, yet so many continue to use tobacco. The truth is, until everyone stops smoking and cigarettes are unavailable, there will always be smokers. Its a difficult addiction to break, but one that deserves the utmost attention. Besides, in addition to the damage tobacco does to the lungs, smoking cigarettes significantly increases frown lines and contributes to crows feet wrinkling around the eyes. Stopping smoking today can dramatically improve health now and in the future.

Recharge in a Hot Tub ? After a long, strenuous day, nothing is more relaxing and rejuvenating than a dip in the hot tub. For relieving aches and pains, easing neck or back tension and releasing anxieties, a hot tub is difficult to match. Warm water and massaging jets target tense, overworked muscles, providing relief instantly. Soaking for twenty minutes a few days a week improves sleep, reduces stress and promotes a refreshed, rejuvenated appearance. A hot tub is an ideal solution for arthritis pain, fibromyalgia or chronic back pain, providing instant relief, anytime, day or night.

To help inform women how hydrotherapy can help improve overall health and well-being, we will provide free hot tub test soaks in our 5 locations during the entire month, commented Eppard. We want to encourage local consumers to check out the benefits of a relaxing soak in an energy efficient hot tub for themselves.

Consumers wanting to find the Hot Spring Spas location nearest them are encouraged to visit the company website for more information. The website address is http://www.HotSpringGreen.com

USA Call Centers Provide Tech Support for a Variety of Computer and

One area that demands technical support as provided by call centers in the USA is the computer products industry. Phone representatives are able to help callers install software and hardware, troubleshoot glitches and assist customers in programming settings on their machines.

Phone agents can also explain to callers how to use a particular program after they?ve installed it. USA call center personnel who are hired by technology companies field an enormous amount of calls from people who can?t understand what the makers of the software product thought were simple directions.

Probably all of us have had experiences like this. It can be frustrating, particularly if there?s an urgency and the need to get a program up and running. Staff at call centers in the USA are trained to help callers stay calm and assure them that they (the staff) are able to solve the problem.

A good call center will have sufficient staff to handle the expected volume of calls a given client will receive. In addition to being trained on how the client?s product works, the staff is also trained to be polite, courteous and helpful. For companies that make and sell computer-related products, call centers truly are a ready-made solution to handling tech support tasks.

Companies that choose to provide tech support in-house often find it difficult, not because they don?t know how their products work, but because they don?t have the experience that USA call centers have in managing the operation. Call centers have many resources such as tracking software, the ability to generate any number of reports and proven systems and protocols in daily operations that few companies have.

Most call centers in the USA have excellent training programs for their phone agents, another thing most companies lack. If companies take the in-house tech support option, it can result in lower customer satisfaction and more customer complaints with regards to how the customers are being handled and dealt with on the phone.

Other support services many call centers provide include the following:

  • Complaint handling
  • Disaster and emergency intervention
  • Sales and order fulfillment
  • Handling of inquiries
  • Message taking and delivery
In addition to serving the needs of the tech industry, call centers in the USA work with clients in the following industries: Healthcare Insurance Retail Finance Non-profit Travel and tourism Utilities Education In summary, call centers in the USA are good choices for outsourced Tier 1 support services as they have proven systems and well-trained staff. Call center agents are able to learn everything they need to know about a client?s products and can generate greater customer satisfaction than the company that makes the products is in many cases able to.

Giant 655-pound Leatherback turtle rescued and released (+video)

A huge 7-foot long Leatherback sea turtle was treated for dehydration and released off Cape Cod. Meanwhile, a pregnant hawksbill sea turtle was rescued in the US Virgin Islands, and has since laid 55 eggs.

Harwichport, Mass., and Marathon, Fla.

The New England Aquarium in Boston say it's released a 7-foot (2.1-meter)-long, 655-pound (297-kilogram) leatherback sea turtle back into waters off Cape Cod after it was treated for dehydration, trauma, and shock.

The turtle was found stranded near the tip of the cape Thursday. Experts at the aquarium say the male turtle was underweight (adult males typically weigh 1,000 pounds) and lethargic, and a large portion of its left front flipper was missing because of some kind of trauma.

Veterinarians treated it, and aquarium officials say the turtle regained its strength, and they released it off Harwichport on Saturday.

Leatherback sea turtles are endangered and the largest reptile in the world. Experts treated the turtle using information obtained from research on leatherbacks that were briefly captured over the past few summers off Cape Cod.

Leatherbacks migrate up the East Coast each June to feed on abundant sea jellies (jellyfish) in Massachusetts waters, particularly around the Cape and the Islands. They will migrate south for the winter in September and October, according to the New England Aquarium.

Hawksbill sea turtled airlifted from Virgin Islands

In other turtle rescue news, a female hawksbill sea turtle airlifted from the U.S. Virgin Islands to the Florida Keys-based Turtle Hospital was recovering Saturday and producing eggs, officials said.

The turtle, named Good Hope after the beach in St. Croix where she was discovered, has laid 55 eggs since arriving at the hospital in Marathon on Sept. 1.

Hospital manager Bette Zirkelbach said X-rays revealed more eggs were being produced, indicating that the turtle has been responding to antibiotics, wound care and physical therapy.

Some 47 eggs deemed "viable" were incubated, nestled in beach sand shipped from St. Croix, she said.

"Good Hope would have laid (eggs) on Good Hope beach in St. Croix, with that St. Croix sand," said Zirkelbach. "And those hatchlings would have come out and the first thing they would have contact with is St. Croix sand."

It can't be determined if the eggs are fertile, however, until the traditional 60-day gestation period ends.

The endangered hawksbill's continued improvement is good news to hospital director Richie Moretti, who founded the veterinary facility dedicated solely to the treatment of sea turtles more than 25 years ago.

"When 'Good Hope' came to the Turtle Hospital, it looked like we might have to amputate her front flippers," Moretti said. "But she's getting stronger and stronger every day."

With the turtle seemingly no longer in danger of dying, hospital staff is now trying to preserve the vision in the reptile's swollen eyes.

Good Hope was found severely injured Aug. 24 after Tropical Storm Isaac brushed St. Croix. Officials believe the animal was repeatedly gaffed in the front flippers, perhaps to remove fishing gear.

A Virgin Islands veterinarian treated her for a week before local fish and wildlife officials decided to send the animal on an American Airlines jet to the Turtle Hospital for treatment.
